Open Burning of natural vegetation is closed effective June 29, 2025. Warming Fires are still allowed weather permitting.

Open burning is usually permitted in the Spring from January 1st – June 1st (burning may close as conditions area is evaluated) and in the Fall from October 1st – December 31st.

– Elko County Fire Protection District is officially closing the open burn window starting Sunday, June 29. No residential or debris burning will be allowed after this date.
